People Treen syysmallisto 2012 on vintagen inspiroima, täynnä käytännöllisiä, mutta naisellisia vaatteita. Mekkoja ja paitoja koristavat nostalgiset printit sekä rusetit ja laskokset. Malliston avulla People Tree on jälleen työllistänyt yli 4000 puuvillan viljelijää ja käsityöläistä 10 kehitysmaassa. Reilun palkan lisäksi tämä tarkoittaa usein koulujen ja terveydenhuollon kehittämistä sekä taloudellisen itsenäisyyden lisääntymistä aiemmin hyvin syrjityssä ja heikossa asemassa olleille ihmisille.

SLOW means standing up against exploitation, family separation, slum cities and pollution –all the things that make FAST fashion so successful.

In contrast, every one of the garments in our collection is a living blueprint for the People Tree philosophy –organic cotton, handcrafted clothing, using traditional skills that support rural communities.

The People Tree design team have woved us with a ‘Mad men’ theme of vintage glamour, with gorgeous open knit wool, structured cotton poplin and tailored hand weaves.

Conversational prints and bright colors rule for the autumn-winter collection. Inspired by the wildlife in the English back garden and the tropical flowers from the villages of our farmers and artisans in India, Bangladesh and Kenya.

It all adds up to effortless chic –naturally!”
